Since November 2021, Serveo has been responsible for the comprehensive maintenance of sector B-05 of the Spanish Road Network for the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MITMS).

Maintenance of key infrastructure

 One of the main challenges posed by the project was the maintenance of the AP-7 highway after the tolls were abolished. This included the dismantling of toll booths while ensuring the viability of the road and continuity of key services, such as fuel supply and rest area management. Serveo designed a comprehensive road maintenance solution adapted to such needs and managed the continuity of all services involved using indicators.

Innovation and technology for safe and efficient road management

Serveo implemented innovative technologies to improve service safety and efficiency. Such innovations include the XPERtraffic application for incident management, wildlife intrusion detection systems at critical accident points, and the use of AI technologies for autonomous asset inventory. These measures contribute to safer and more efficient infrastructure management.

Partnership and alignment with the MITMS' objectives

Serveo has worked closely with the MITMS to ensure road safety and the maintenance of sector assets. The priority has been to execute the dismantling works within the deadlines set, guarantee the safety of users and workers, and maintain the quality of the services in rest areas according to contractual indicators.

• Efficient dismantling of toll booths: The removal of toll booths was completed, and the safety and continuity of traffic was ensured.
• Risk reduction: The implementation of wildlife detection systems and other technologies helped reduce risks at critical points in the road network.
• Maintenance optimisation: Autonomous asset inventory management enabled significant maintenance optimisation, thus cutting operating time and costs.
